THE OPPORTUNITY
Enrage Staffing Solutions is looking for a competent and experienced Dispatcher to join our Team. The Dispatcher, under the direction of the General Manager, will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the Drivers. They will establish work schedules and routines and will be responsible to complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift, including daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, and hours of service, following applicable provincial and federal regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITES
- Co-ordinate, assign and review the duties of Drivers to ensure that procedures, legislative requirements, and customer demands are continuously met.
- Input or revise orders. Collect work orders from Drivers and ensure information is accurate.
- Communicate to Drivers regularly regarding internal and external changes,
- Direct the pickup and delivery by appropriately assigning Drivers to trucks.
- Haul metal waste from various commercial customers,
- Maintain accurate and complete records associated with the dispatch of vehicles.
- Dispatch drivers based on asset required (BIN, Lugger, dump truck, container) in accordance with schedules, work orders, or as demanded by the nature of the situation.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Provide updates to customers of any route and or traffic issues for estimated time of delivery and or of alternate solutions.
- Establish daily work schedules and routines for Drivers up to and including fifty (50) hours of straight time, up to sixty hours if required overtime will apply.
- Configure routes for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Schedule sales loads (sold material) for delivery going outbound from the company facility.
- Advise drivers of route and traffic problems such as construction, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, weight and size restrictions and other information.
- Fleet management to ensure Preventative Maintenance is scheduled, based on run time and Driver schedule to minimize downtime.
- Monitor work related accidents, and incidents. Ensure that incident reports are accurately and promptly completed. Report incidents and accidents to management promptly.
- Report to the General Manager to ensure that the Diver Evaluation be completed when there is an accident, near miss, injury, or absence from work, to ensure that the Driver is competent.
- Monitor Driver’s workloads and locations using the GPS system.
- Ensure smooth operation of asset allocation when BINS has been reported for repair by all means such as driver, customer and or sales notification.
- View and monitor fleet Management to ensure drivers are not exceeding 105km/hr or 64m miles/hr not making greater than 15 minute stops a day for breaks and are following the route assigned.
- Keeps records of pre-inspections logs, hours of service, and maintenance records of all trucks and equipment on a weekly basis.
- Plan and develop agenda and minutes on monthly safety talks with Drivers (usually 1st Wednesday of every month).
- Responsible for ensuring spill drills are done every 6 months with the drivers.
- Monthly, check to ensure that the fire extinguishes in the truck cab are inspected and the safety equipment is inspected and or stocked as the spill absorbent.
- Other duties as required, not limited to responsibilities listed above.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Certifications or licenses appropriate to the transportation industry.
- Degree or diploma in related field.
- Three (3) years of related experience in the transportation industry.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian driving rules and regulations.
- Highly developed understanding of transportation industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The working environment is busy and fast paced, with regular and ongoing interactions with colleagues, management, and the public at large. There may be frequent interruptions, and from time to time be noisy. The employee must have knowledge of how to manage their own personal safety under these conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to be able to lift up to and including 30lbs, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and reach with arms/hands. Walking, walking up/down stairs, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items is occasionally required.
